News Flash!
After Prom Only tickets will be on sale Monday, May 10-Wed., May 12 at lunch for $10.00. Only Blake Juniors and Seniors can buy After Prom Only tickets. Guest tickets cannot be purchased for After Prom Only. (If students purchase a Prom ticket, their After Prom ticket is included with the Prom ticket. Prom tickets will be on sale from Monday, April 26-May 7th.)
After-Prom is a supervised party held in a controlled, secure environment after the Junior-Senior Prom. It includes all sorts of games, a magician, valuable door prizes, and plenty of great food. We sponsor After-Prom to provide an alcohol- and drug-free event that avoids risky, unsupervised after-party alternatives where poor decisions can have deadly consequences. In 2009, over 700 students attended!
After-Prom is sponsored, organized, paid for, chaperoned, and managed on-site by the PTSA. After-Prom receives no funds from the sale of Prom tickets or the school. Having the After-Prom at Dave & Busters costs approx. $35 per student. (Please donate today—for more information see “After Prom Donations” below).
The party starts at 12:30 a.m. and students must arrive at the party by 1:00 a.m. The party ends at 5:00 a.m.; however, if a student leaves the party, they are not allowed to re-enter. The party is open to all Juniors and Seniors, even if they do not attend the Prom. Blake parents volunteer to help ensure that every aspect of the party goes smoothly, supported by a professional security team that includes Montgomery County police officers.

After Prom Donations
To make After-Prom a reality, now and for future classes (Sophomores and Freshmen) the PTSA is asking all Blake families to make a tax-deductible donation of at least $35. In these difficult economic times we know you receive many charitable requests, so any amount is appreciated. Except for some donations from local businesses, Blake Booster support and fundraisers such as pizza sales and dine-outs, Blake parents fund the entire cost of the party. We need every parent to help us succeed in keeping our students safe!
There are two ways to donate:
1. Print the After Prom Donation form available on this web page, and mail it along with your check to the After Prom Committee c/o Blake High School, 300 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, MD 20905.
2. Pay with your credit card, or PayPal account, from this web site. Go to the Join Our PTSA Today page. Scroll down to After Prom. Choose your donation amount and click “Add to cart.” Follow the directions when sent to the PayPal page. You will be able to print a receipt for your donation after your payment goes through.
Volunteering for After Prom
Along with your financial support, you can donate door prizes (gift cards, Vera Bradley, electronics, etc.,) and you can volunteer to help prepare for the event and join with other parents to help staff this unique and outrageous party!
