Blake PTSA hires buses to make getting to and from the graduation ceremony at DAR Constitution Hall easy for you.

Remember: MCPS does NOT provide transportation!

Seat reservations on the PTSA Graduation Bus cost $21.00 per person, and include:

Door-to-door, round-trip transportation from Blake to DAR and back again, on a comfortable, air-conditioned bus. (Stay cool, calm, and collected while the bus driver handles the rush-hour traffic!)
Continental breakfast at Blake, available 7:00 to 7:40 a.m., when buses will load.
No chance your car is going to break down or get into an accident!
No worries or hassles with traffic delays, and no trouble trying to find (and pay for!) a parking space downtown!
No 7-1/2 block walk from Farragut West Metro Station (0.54 miles) or 10-1/2 block walk from Federal Triangle Metro Station (0.93 miles), in high heels and tropic heat!

Some families may choose to send their graduate on the bus to ensure the graduate’s timely arrival, and travel separately to stay and celebrate downtown.

PLEASE NOTE! GRADUATES MUST HAVE A PAID SEAT TO RIDE ON PTSA BUSES!

We Need Your Help – Support This Year’s After Prom

This year’s Prom is rapidly approaching and the parents of the PTSA are committed to providing a safe drug and alcohol free After Prom in order to keep our teens safe. As in year’s past the After Prom this year will be held at Dave & Busters’s in Rockville from 12:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.

And, as in year’s past the After Prom is sponsored, organized, paid for, chaperoned and managed onsite by the PTSA – in other words you!!!

Our first goal is to raise fund to host the event.

We are asking every family that can to make a monetary contribution to help cover the cost of After Prom. The cost of After Prom is about $54.00 per student – a cost that is not completely covered by the cost of Prom or After Prom tickets. So we’re asking every family that can to make a cash donation of $54.00 (or any amount that you can).

There are two ways to make your donation:

Write a check made payable to
Blake High School After Prom and mail it to Blake High School PTSA, 300 Norwood
Road, Silver Spring, MD 20905.

Enjoy a night out at Mamma Lucia’s in Olney or bring dinner home to your family! Either way, will help raise funds for Blake’s After-Prom.

Blake Blue Note Goes Green!

The Blake Blue Note will now be distributed primarily online. A limited number of copies will be printed and available for pick-up at Blake for those families who prefer receiving a paper copy. By going largely paperless, receiving the Blue Note becomes more timely for everyone and will save thousands of dollars in supplies and postage, as well as countless hours printing and labeling the newsletter.

The Blue Note will continue to be distributed via EubieMail. The most recent Blue Note, along with past issues, is available here at the Blake High School PTSA website. Be sure to visit the PTSA page for the latest news about Blake PTSA and how you can contribute to the school, community affairs, and your child’s education.

Many parents have asked for suggestions for alternatives to driving or metro to get to graduation. Below is a link to a list of companies providing limo and transportation services. All of the companies have completed the “Keeping It Safe Coalition” training which is also described in the document.
