Back by popular demand! 

This event is sponsored by the PTSA and totally funded by parents and local businesses.  No money comes from the school or prom ticket sales.

Enjoy a night out at Mamma Lucia’s in Olney or bring dinner home to your family! Either way, will help raise funds for Blake’s After-Prom.

Eat-in, carry-out, or delivery — Mamma Lucia will donate 8% of all sales from 5pm to 9pm. We encourage your participation as you take a night off from cooking and enjoy visiting with other Blake families and friends.

No flyer is required for this dine-out.

Additionally, the winning team or club members will also receive a prior year’s race t-shirt for participating in this challenge.  The Race registration form is located here.

So sign up for the race, and encourage your friends and family too!  Blake teachers and staff are welcome to participate!!

Guidelines:

1. Team/Club selects a Leader to collect race registration forms and fees from their club/team members, family and friends.
2. Leader emails Janice Hylton, PTSA Race Coordinator, to communicate their participation in the Race Pizza Party Challenge (janice.hylton@nreca.coop).
3. Leader collects registration forms/fees and turns them in all together at lunch time at Race sign-up table (near cafeteria) on Friday, October 1^st.**
4. The team/club with the most collected registrations wins the pizza party.
5. The winning team/club selects a day of their choice for pizza delivery.
6. Thank you for participating, have fun, and good luck!

**If you miss the Oct 1^st preferred deadline, you can still bring your forms on the day of the Race.

Prom is on Friday, May 14 from 8:00pm-12:00am at the Samuel Riggs Alumni Center at the University of Maryland.
The After Prom is at Dave & Buster’s in White Flint Mall immediately following the Prom from 12:30am to 5:00am. Prom Tickets will be available for purchase on Monday, April 26-Friday, May 7.  The cost will be $55.00 per ticket. Tickets will NOT be sold the week of Prom.  After-Prom tickets will be included with the purchase of a Prom ticket.  For questions regarding Prom tickets contact Kelly McLaughlin, Junior Class Sponsor, Kelly_A_McLaughlin@mcpsmd.org.

Hello Blake families,

With about 35 days to go until the 2010 After-Prom, we have just passed the 66% point of our Fundraising goal for Parent Donations. To the 81 families that have donated to the After-Prom, THANK YOU!!! To the other 900+ families at Blake, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Regardless of the grade your child is in, we count on your support. Our initial deadline is/was Friday, April 9.

Any contribution, large or small, is appreciated! Your donation will help insure a safe, alcohol and drug free evening for our Juniors, Seniors and their Prom dates!

We will make a decision shortly whether or not to cut activities and/or charge all Prom goers a fee to go to the After Prom. It has traditionally been free to all Prom goers and their guests and we would like to keep it that way!

The 2010 After Prom committee has been planning and fundraising throughout the school year with after-school pizza sales, Spirit Buttons and Dine-Out events, but our biggest fundraising source is direct contributions from you, our Blake Families.

In addition, on your donation form there is a place for you to volunteer to help the night of the After Prom. We need approximately 75 parents to help during the After Prom (May 14/15). This is a fun, busy event and we have many opportunities to participate so please sign up now to help out. If you have any questions about being a volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Cathy Clark at jclark0007@aol. com.

Last, we are offering bus transportation from the Prom to the After Prom should there be enough interest. Reservations must be made by April 19 and we must have a full bus to be able to offer this service. See the bottom of your form for details and cost.

By now you have received your 2010 After Prom donation letter.  To date we have received donations from 63 families totaling about 48% of our $10,000 goal.

First, we want to thank those of you that have sent in your donations and want to remind those of you that have not to pull out the yellow/blue paper from the inbox on your desk and send your donation in for the best Blake event ever!  Should you have misplaced your letter we have uploaded the After Prom letter on this web site for you to print out and send in. For those of you who are Freshman and Sophomore parents, you may be wondering why you should help.  The After Prom is an event that your children will attend as upperclassmen and we depend on all Blake families to help make this annual event a success.  Please help us continue our strong Bengal tradition of “paying it forward!”
