About Blake PTSA

MISSION STATEMENT

The Blake PTSA is an organization composed of parents, teachers and students, working together to better the lives of our students. It is our duty to adhere to the mission of the National PTSA and that is: to be a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.

When do we meet?

Our General Membership Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. during the school year. The Blake PTSA Board holds its meetings on the second Wednesday of every month during the school year.

See our PTSA Calendar for dates of our meetings for this school year, and for a list of other PTSA events. See our PTSA Minutes page to read the approved minutes of PTSA general meetings.

Who are we?

A list of Current PTSA Officers is available on this web site.

What do we do?

  • We send the Blake Blue Note newsletter to every Blake household, by mail or email, regardless of whether they have joined the PTSA.
  • We fund the school’s Renaissance rewards program and give scholarships to deserving graduates who are going into education or public service.
  • We fund and coordinate the After Prom, which many think is the best and safest after-prom event in the county.
  • In addition, we coordinate other events such as Back to School Night, College Night, and Comedy Night (see our PTSA Calendar for a list of events through the year, and for more information on dates and times).
  • Whenever possible, we give a gift from the PTSA to the school. Past gifts have included the school’s electronic sign and a supply of calculators for math students who are unable to purchase their own.
  • In addition, we organize parents and other dedicated volunteers to help implement school improvement programs and forge constructive relationships between parents, teachers, administrators and the students. We work tirelessly with the school to provide the necessary supports for our students. We seek to be inclusive of our entire school community.
  • For more information, visit our Committee Descriptions and Activities web page.

How can I stay informed of school activities and related matters of interest?

Parents can stay informed about Blake H.S. activities with our Blake PTSA Yahoo Group (Eubiemail).

How can I help the Blake PTSA?

We want to solicit as wide a spectrum of views as possible, on how best to support our students and, therefore, we encourage parents, teachers, other staff and students to join our ranks and support the school, collectively. For information on membership, see the Join Our PTSA Today page.

If you’d like to volunteer to help with a PTSA event or activity, please contact the PTSA Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@blakeptsa.org.
