After Prom needs donations–and volunteers

Blake’10 After Prom
“Into the Night”

Hello Blake families,

With about 35 days to go until the 2010 After-Prom, we have just passed the 66% point of our Fundraising goal for Parent Donations. To the 81 families that have donated to the After-Prom, THANK YOU!!! To the other 900+ families at Blake, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Regardless of the grade your child is in, we count on your support. Our initial deadline is/was Friday, April 9.

Any contribution, large or small, is appreciated! Your donation will help insure a safe, alcohol and drug free evening for our Juniors, Seniors and their Prom dates!

We will make a decision shortly whether or not to cut activities and/or charge all Prom goers a fee to go to the After Prom. It has traditionally been free to all Prom goers and their guests and we would like to keep it that way!

The 2010 After Prom committee has been planning and fundraising throughout the school year with after-school pizza sales, Spirit Buttons and Dine-Out events, but our biggest fundraising source is direct contributions from you, our Blake Families.

In addition, on your donation form there is a place for you to volunteer to help the night of the After Prom. We need approximately 75 parents to help during the After Prom (May 14/15). This is a fun, busy event and we have many opportunities to participate so please sign up now to help out. If you have any questions about being a volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Cathy Clark at jclark0007@aol. com.

Last, we are offering bus transportation from the Prom to the After Prom should there be enough interest. Reservations must be made by April 19 and we must have a full bus to be able to offer this service. See the bottom of your form for details and cost.
